CHAPTER 4: THE FILE

That evening, Daniel received a call from his head of security.
His voice sounded different.
Concerned.
"Sir... we found something."
Daniel stared out the window.
"What is it?"
"A hidden file."
The security team had begun reviewing company records connected to the executive.
What they discovered was disturbing.
Dozens of deleted expense reports.
Unexplained transfers.
Missing inventory.
Fake vendor contracts.
Millions of dollars.
Gone.
For years.
Undetected.
The bicycle accident had done something auditors, lawyers, and compliance officers had failed to do.
It put the executive directly in front of the one person he never wanted to meet.
The CEO himself.
Daniel closed his eyes.
"What else?"
The answer came quietly.
"There may be others involved."
Outside, storm clouds gathered over the city.
Inside Hartwell Tower, emergency meetings were already being scheduled.
The accident on Willow Road wasn't the end of the story.
May you like
It was the beginning.
And by sunrise, a billion-dollar empire would be fighting for its reputation.
