Chapter 10 - A New Sunrise

One year later.

The summer wind blew softly across the bluffs of Lake Forest, carrying the scent of fresh pine and the warm, sweet sound of children’s laughter. The high iron gates of the Castello estate were still there, but they were open now, the armed guards replaced by beautiful landscaping and a wide, open driveway where three little tricycles sat in a neat row.

The nursery on the second floor had been converted into three separate, vibrant bedrooms, and the grand playroom was filled with drawings, finger paintings, and stuffed animals of every shape and size.

Today, the estate was hosting a celebration.

A white silk canopy stretched across the manicured lawn overlooking the blue expanse of Lake Michigan. Roman stood at the altar, wearing a tailored black tuxedo that fit his massive frame perfectly. The ruthless, cold expression that had defined his face for a decade was gone, replaced by a deep, peaceful smile that reached all the way to his gray-blue eyes.

Beside him stood Donovan, serving proudly as the best man, a rare, genuine grin breaking across his scarred cheek.

The music began to play—a soft, acoustic guitar melody that felt light, warm, and full of hope.

The three triplets walked down the aisle together as the wedding party. Leo and Nico, now two years old and wearing matching miniature tuxedos, held hands with their sister, Brinley, who wore a beautiful white tulle dress with a flower crown in her curls.

As they passed Roman, Nico looked up and shouted happily, "Look, Daddy! Mommy’s coming!"

The guests—consisting of loyal captains, close friends, and the staff who had become like family—laughed warmly.

Then came Pamela.

She looked breathtaking in an elegant, simple ivory lace gown that caught the afternoon sun. Her hair was pulled back, revealing the cut on her cheek which had healed into a faint, silver line—a badge of honor from the night she had saved her children. She didn't look like a waitress from Bridgeport, and she didn't look like a victim of tragedy. She looked like a woman who had fought through hell to claim her heaven.

When Roman took her hand at the altar, his fingers were warm, steady, and entirely safe.

"You took your time getting here, Mrs. Castello," Roman whispered, his voice thick with an emotion he no longer tried to hide.

"I had to make sure the kids didn't eat the cake before the ceremony, Mr. Castello," Pamela whispered back, her hazel eyes glittering with love.

The vows were short, powerful, and filled with promises of a future built on truth, protection, and a love that had survived the darkest plots of men. When the priest finally pronounced them husband and wife, Roman pulled Pamela into his arms and kissed her, a massive cheer erupting from the lawn.

The three babies instantly broke away from Donovan and ran to the altar, their little arms wrapping around their parents' legs. Leo clutched his velvet bear, Nico bounced on his feet, and Brinley reached up, her tiny hand finding Pamela’s.

"Mommy, Daddy, together," Brinley said clearly, her voice a beautiful, ringing truth in the afternoon air.

Roman picked up the two boys, while Pamela lifted Brinley into her arms, the four of them standing together as the sun began to dip below the lake, painting the sky in brilliant shades of gold, pink, and violet.

The mafia boss’s triplets had never spoken until they pointed at a waitress and called her mom. But today, their voices were part of a song that would never end—a song of a family born from shadows, living forever in the light.

THE END.
