CHAPTER 3: THE WOMAN IN THE VIP BOX
CHAPTER 3: THE WOMAN IN THE VIP BOX
As Clara prepared to leave the arena, something unusual happened.
A woman stood from the VIP section.
Elegant.
Wealthy.
Powerful.
Her name was Victoria Langston.
Owner of one of the largest sports management companies in the country.
But when Victoria looked at Clara, her face turned completely white.
The photograph Clara carried had slipped from her pocket.
Victoria recognized it instantly.
Because the woman in that picture wasn't dead.
And Victoria had spent fifteen years hiding the truth.
For the first time in years, Victoria felt fear.
Real fear.
Because the girl everyone laughed at was about to uncover a secret powerful people had buried for over a decade.
And that secret was about her mother.
CHAPTER 4: THE WOMAN WHO SHOULDN'T EXIST
That night, Clara couldn't sleep.
The image of Victoria Langston's face haunted her.
Fear.
Pure fear.
Not surprise.
Not curiosity.
Fear.
The next morning, Clara returned to the arena and demanded answers.
Victoria refused.
Three times.
But on the fourth attempt, Clara placed the old photograph on her desk.
The color drained from Victoria's face.
"Where did you get this?"
"It was my mother's."
Silence.
A terrible silence.
Then Victoria whispered words Clara never expected to hear.
"Your mother isn't dead."
The world stopped.
Clara's knees nearly gave out.
"What?"
Victoria closed her eyes.
"Your mother survived."
The room spun around Clara.
For fifteen years she had visited a grave.
For fifteen years she had mourned.
For fifteen years she believed she was alone.
And now someone was telling her everything was a lie.
"Where is she?"
Victoria looked away.
"I don't know."
But Clara could tell.
She was lying.
CHAPTER 5: THE CRASH THAT NEVER HAPPENED
The official story was simple.
Olympic champion Elena Ross died in a tragic training accident.
A skating blade snapped.
She crashed.
Suffered fatal injuries.
Case closed.
Except it wasn't.
Clara obtained old news footage.
Medical reports.
Witness statements.
And one detail changed everything.
There was no body.
Only a closed casket funeral.
The deeper she investigated, the stranger the story became.
Every witness had connections to the same organization.
Titan Sports International.
The largest sports management company in the country.
The company now run by Victoria Langston.
Then Clara found a hidden file.
A confidential report buried deep in public archives.
The title made her blood run cold.
ELENA ROSS — CAREER TERMINATION STRATEGY.
Career termination?
Not accident report.
Not medical report.
Termination strategy.
Someone had planned her mother's disappearance.
Years before it happened.
Someone powerful.
May you like
Someone rich.
Someone who feared what Elena knew.
