CHAPTER 3 – THE WOLF RETURNS

CHAPTER 3 – THE WOLF RETURNS

Bullets ripped through the Romano estate like a violent thunderstorm.

The marble fountain exploded into pieces as machine-gun fire rained across the courtyard.

Black SUVs smashed through the front gates one after another.

The Castanos hadn't come to negotiate.

They had come to erase the Romano bloodline forever.

Inside the mansion, panic spread among servants, but Vincent's soldiers reacted with military precision.

"Protect Isabella!"

"No one gets upstairs!"

Tony rushed the little girl through a hidden hallway concealed behind an antique bookshelf.

"Papa!"

Isabella struggled against his grip.

"He'll be alone!"

Tony kept running.

"Your father has survived wars before you were born."

Another explosion shook the corridor.

Dust rained from the ceiling.

Meanwhile...

Vincent Romano walked calmly down the grand staircase.

Each step echoed through the burning mansion.

His black suit remained spotless despite shattered glass falling around him.

The twin pistols rested comfortably in his hands.

The Wolf had awakened.

A dozen Castano gunmen burst through the front doors.

The first man barely had time to raise his rifle.

BANG!

One shot.

Between the eyes.

He collapsed instantly.

The second gunman fired wildly.

Vincent spun behind a marble column before returning fire.

Two bullets.

Two bodies.

His movements were frighteningly efficient.

No wasted motion.

No hesitation.

No emotion.

Within thirty seconds...

Seven attackers lay dead.

The remaining gunmen froze.

Some of them had heard stories about Vincent Romano.

Tonight they were witnessing the legend.

Outside, Matteo Castano watched through binoculars from an armored SUV.

He smiled.

"So the old wolf still has teeth."

His lieutenant frowned.

"Should we move in?"

Matteo shook his head.

"No."

"I didn't come for Vincent."

His smile widened.

"I came for the little girl."

At that exact moment...

A sniper positioned on a nearby rooftop adjusted his scope.

The glowing red dot drifted across an upstairs window.

Tony noticed it first.

"DOWN!"

He tackled Isabella to the floor.

CRACK!

The bullet pierced the wall exactly where her head had been.

Tony grabbed his radio.

"Boss!"

"They've got snipers covering the east wing!"

Vincent answered while exchanging gunfire.

"I know."

"What?"

"I spotted the reflection before he fired."

Vincent calmly aimed through the broken window.

Nearly three hundred yards away...

A tiny flash.

BANG!

The sniper disappeared from the rooftop.

Tony stared in disbelief.

"You actually hit him?"

Vincent simply reloaded.

"I taught every sniper in this city."

Outside...

Matteo's smile finally disappeared.

"Interesting."

He reached into his pocket and removed an old photograph.

It showed Vincent...

Elena...

and a young man standing beside them.

The third person had been torn from the picture.

Matteo whispered,

"Your secret dies tonight."

Suddenly—

A helicopter appeared above the mansion.

Its searchlight illuminated the estate.

Tony looked up.

"Oh no..."

The helicopter doors opened.

Ropes dropped.

Elite mercenaries began descending onto the roof.

Vincent immediately understood.

"They're not attacking."

"They're extracting."

Tony frowned.

"Extracting who?"

Vincent's eyes widened.

"There must be a traitor inside."

Before he could finish...

One of his own captains opened the back security gate from inside.

More than fifty heavily armed Castano soldiers flooded into the property.

Tony cursed.

"We've been betrayed."

Vincent's face turned colder than stone.

"Find the captain."

"I'll handle everyone else."

The Wolf disappeared into the smoke.

May you like

And moments later...

The mansion echoed with the sounds of a one-man army.
